Discovery trip to Kithira Island (Greece)
29 November - 5 December 2019

Kythera is one of the most chaming among the greek islands: positioned south of Peloponneso,
it's considered the ideal border between Ionian and Aegean sea.
Renowned also as the Venus isle, since she was supposedly born here,
Kythera is exposed in its northern quarter to strong winds for almost every month of the year:
its variegated shores, with the abundance of beaches, caves and safe natural coves, it's ideal for a kayak trip!

The island of Kythera can be circumnavigated in five days, since it's total costal lenght of 130 km.
The average daily distance will be between 20 and 30 Km, and could include a quick diversion to the close isle of Elafonisos.
This trip is meant only for skilled and open-to-adventure paddlers, with experience equivalent to a Coastal Sea Kayak Award,
and it is strongly advised to meet Tatiana and paddle with her at least for a couple of days before starting the guided trip!

We will meet in Palea Fokaea, in the Attica region just on the Athens ouskirt, where is based the sea kayak school Odysea run by George Gazetas.
After choosing the kayaks (Valley, P&H, Prijon) and personal & camping gear, we will reach with van and trailer the choosen area.
George is offering a wide range of Werner paddle, in different models, materials, lenght and width, including the ergonomic “bent–shaft”.
Camping tents are for two person, Thermarest mattress are of top quality, MRS and Lifeventure camping stove are easy and functional.
The night stay are in apartment (at least for three night, first and last included)
and in nautical camping when we will decide to reach the most isolated beaches.

Pantry and water can be purchased in Palea Fokaea on the arrival day.

The Discovery trip cost is 640€ each person and it is inclusive of guide, assistance, transfert to and from the island, rental for camping equipment
(tent, mattress, sleeping bag, camping stove – tableware not included).
kayak rental and equipment (paddle, life-jacket, spry-skirt, watertight bag, tow-line, knife,
whistle, bilge handpump, sponge, spare paddle, first aid kit and kayak repair kit).
Costs are not including flight to and from Athens, the meals and the extra transferts.
Booking deadline is 10 of November 2019 with advance payment of 200€ each in the account.
The trip will be activated on a minimum number of at least 4 entries.
